I have been a long-time John Denver fan and still am to this day. I saw him in concert in 1992 and have never forgotten the experience. It began when he came onstage to tune up. There were some people in the stands; he ended up singing 2 songs. It was almost like a private concert. When the show began for real, instead of stopping after an hour and a half, he kept on singing. His style, grace, and humor won the hearts of all within earshot.
When I heard of his death, I cried. My co-workers thought I had lost a member of my family. Not quite, but it felt like I did. I still mourn his passing.

We all have lost a wonderful person, and heaven has gained the brightest of souls, but we still have his music - and that, I will forever be grateful for.

One of my biggest regrets is never getting a chance to see John in concert. John you are truly what goodness is, your music has touched millions and continues to this day. We sit around a campfire, my best friends and I, one of us quietly plays acoustic guitar while listening to John Denver, and we always shed a tear. Afterwords the guitar player strums and the rest of sing (with a lot of effort) some of John's best. And afterwords, it goes quiet as we take time to drift and indivdually think of how he and his music has affected our lives......Not once has he ever been absent from our fire and I know we will never have a campfire without him. I was saddened by his death along with all his other fans. I didn't realize how much there was of John Denver on a computer till I purchased one over a year ago. Just accidently came across this site! Nice! Love the pics of John's house in Starwood. Well, let me just say that I'm a HUGE JD fan too! His music touched my heart. I have every one of his albums, been to Aspen three times, know all of his songs by heart. A part of me died the day he died. I cried so hard for a long time. I miss him so. No more concerts by him...bummer! I'm not great at expressing myself, so, I'll end here. You're forever in my heart, John, and so is your music!
