went to dentist this morning. perfect teeth as always

then met mle and aunt maureen for lunch at nick\'s fish place in merchandise mart. had appetizer of crab cake over a mango salad. mle had jamaican salmon over salad, aunt maureen had a salad with either fish or chicken topping, and i had fish tacos with french fries. for dessert we had a chocolate molten cake with ice cream and a sampler of creme brulee, key lime pie and cheesecake. we also walked around merchandise mart to look at kitchen appliances and such. at one of the stores aunt maureen said she had previously seen \"campfire cookery\" for sale. but it wasn\'t there today, so perhaps it sold out. i am huge fan of a big lunch.

Tom - Flash is the reason people cannot see the guestbook on their iphones or ipads. Since so many people that frequent the guestbook are using i-products, we wondered if we could change the guestbook to a nonflash platform so we could post and read from iphones and ipads. We think there may be more readership and authors. I believe all that is flash on the guestbook are the smileys. I wonder if removing them would remove flash? The reason flash doesn\'t work on apple touch products is due to some licensing agreement that never was settled between apple and flash.

I sorta, kinda, vaguely know what flash is, but why did it suddenly come up for discussion?

went northside. played monopoly with triplets. first time i didn\'t win ever against them. i blame the dice.

mom made pasta with salmon and roasted regular potatoes and sweet potatoes. yum yum! then dessert of chocolate peanut butter brownie with strawberry yogurt and blueberries.

for my mid afternoon snack i had leftover spinach lasagna and pumpkin pie.

that reminded me, bk, thanks for the piece of pound cake that i ate the day tommy was here.

mr. editor, mew would have to explain flash. i think guestbook uses flash which isn\'t supported by ipads and iphones.

Wait just a minute...I didn\'t get any Mikusevich Family cookies while Mackie was here. Where were those hiding?

headed northside around noon. drove onslo to o\'hare around 1700. now of course i don\'t believe in driving people to airports if the CTA is available, but given jackie\'s delicate condition i made an exception. so unless you are in a family way don\'t expect rides to the airport, people. we have a lovely cta.

molly, my favorite part of thanksgiving might be eating homemade cranberry sauce in my oatmeal for the 6 weeks after thanksgiving.

too cold to smile outside

Well my grand 19 day tour of the Midwest is coming to an end. As I sit here at the Williams, I think about all of the hospitality I received from both sides of the family. A week at my parents, Clay picking me up at my parents and spending 5 days at the Finney\'s, then my dad picking Matt up at O\'hare and driving him down to Lafayette on Christmas Eve...Tommy picking us up at the Amtrak with a hot Imos pizza...Dinner at Farmhaus and some time at the Arms in STL with the Hiltons Katie and Tommy.....Katie throwing a great party last Saturday at her house where we got to see Aunt Tissie, Uncle Jack, Cousin Jill, her husband Tim and their kids, and of course the Ryan\'s....Going to the seedy bar called the Arena in STL with JR, Tommy, and Matt...Brunch with the Stoltz\'s and Tommy......Tommy driving us back to STL...seeing Maureen and all of the Williams at 1305...Catching up with Anna and Emily at Metropolis....Emily and Anna\'s cooking skills....Spending NYE with the Triplets and about 15 of their friends in the South Loop and being the nights DD for about 5 people....Brunch with JT and the Trips at Ann Sather.....and many more fun memories.....I will post some pics when I get back and am on my own computer. (oh and the graciousness of Sean to take me to the Blue line in about 2 hours).

Unlike Matt\'s post, I will be back in Chicago for my baby shower at Kelly Stoltz\'s new house sometime in Feb....ladies, invites to come soon.

I also wanted to note that no one ever has mentioned the guest accommodations at Tommy\'s house. Not only did our accommodations there include being chauffeured around STL, but he had a fresh set of sheets and clean towels for us upon arrival. Its also very fun to stay at Tommy\'s as like in a bed and breakfast its nice to enjoy his conversation on the couch with a beer (for those able to drink) until 1 in the am. Its also great to be able to see walk next door and see the Ryan\'s when ever one wishes.

Last note, Sean, Anna, and I were wanting to ask Tom\'s opinion on a no FLASH guest book. I know this came up in Maine last year, but now that Tomtir himself has an Iphone, as do almost all guestbook readers (or an ipad), I wondered if we could reexamine the possibility. Tommy even said he would post more if he could post from his phone when the thoughts come up throughout the day.

Jackie, you remind me of my friend Molly Riley, she also can say the make and model of any car. She doesn\'t try to learn it, it just comes naturally to her.
Did Jackie not go back to SF with Matt?
When I saw 3D ultrasound pictures of Dash, I felt like he looked very much like a boy. So did Katie. The pictures of Hadley Onslo could go either way, I think. I can see some femininity there.
When I said that people who get up at the crack of dawn are not able to stay up for parties I should have said the exception to the rule is Big Katie. That girl can go the whole mile, anytime, anywhere.
We had a quiet New Year\'s Eve. The only nod to festivity was the ice cream we had for dessert. The fireworks were very loud at midnight, and boomed on for a long time.
Jude is excited that the \"earf\" is beginning a new orbit around the sun. He\'s very into the planets, gravity, black holes, and orbiting.
