According to what I have seen of the archaeological record I don't think the camel was domesticated back in the bronze age. The first people I know of to ride camels were the Aramaeans who overran the Middle East back in the 10th century B.C..
I would say that was Just Deserts, you can lead a camel to water but you cant make it drink

And I always thought the saying was, "You can lead a camel to water, but you can't stop it drinking just about anything that is in liquid form." Even some desserts.
