My father Robert S. Travers (not Trevers as on the crew list) was on the POW, an extremely strong swimmer he survived some 3 hours before being picked up. Died in his sleep aged 94 in February 2011.A wonderful web site thank you to all those who have put their time and effort into recording this historical event. |

My Great Uncle - Marine David Wilson Boyd survived the sinking of the POW but died later when Singapore was taken by the Japenese. Through this site I have eventually managed to piece together what happened to him. Many thanks and a job well done to those who put this site together. |

Recently found out that John Henry Brabant was my uncle who died on HMS Repulse 10/12/1941. Absolutely desperate to contact his brother Chris Brabant who gave the initial details on this web site or relatives of the family. Been searching for years! |

Hello :Your website is Great! I am with the Atlantic Charter Foundation,we would like for you to view our website,www.atlanticcharter.ca.Also,because of the role the HMS Prince of Wales played during the Atlantic Charter meeting of 1941,we feel that there should be an super connection between the Atlantic Charter Foundation and your association,I think that this should be an must. Most of the crew that participated in this historic event died shortly after. The names and faces of the crew of the HMS Prince of Wales have become a valuable part of this historic event. We would like for you to listen to our concern and link us in as part of your association,an move that would superseed us all that would add value to promotion of both site's and one that could help develop the Atlantic Charter Site here in Newfoundla so that this historic event can have its rightful place in history.I look forward to hearing from you and your members. I am currently in Thailand and have just visited Kanchanaburi and Chung Kai war cemetaries where I saw the last resting places of Marines from POW and Repulse, May they rest in peace. Very moving experience, the war graves in Thailand are really kept very well indeed, truly the best ive visited and a fitting tribute. Steven Oakley AB/CrOp M.N. |
