I took Shotokan Karate in Yakima in the 70's I was 11 or 12 then Tom Lau? had a Kung fu class at the Yakima bible baptist Church i took that and could beat the higher ranking students in the Shotokan Karate Class. lol |

I was introduced to Jeet Kune Do during 1970 when I was 14 yrs. Old. My oldest Brother Moved to Santa Maria, CA during 1970 as a Police Officer.By chance he met one of Bruce Lee's Original students of the Los Angles School.His name is Phil Bardelli. I was taking Shotokan Karate at the time. When my brother began to study under Phil Bardelli; he also showed me a few things of Jeet Kune Do system. It was refreshing and simple. I just loved it how this art was very unique as a formless form of defending ones self. Jeet Kune Do, is light years ahead of othe martial arts using it simplicity and directness. Everything in this JKD Gung-fu martial art is simple and it's on time. It's an timeless and very fuctional martial art today and tomorow by it formless form philosophy of "The Art of Fighting." Bruce Lee was and is lighting years of ahead of us all. Long Live the memory of Bruce Lee and Jeet Kune Do Gung-fu! |
