Joop ter Heul

As we all know, when Anne was around 13 years old, she enjoyed reading the Joop ter Heul series by Cissy van Marsveltz (sorry ive spelt the surname wrong).
I would personally love to get the chance to read these books myself as I feel this may give us a little bit more into an insite of why Anne decided to write to the fictional character "Kitty".
I have noticed that you can buy the Joop ter Heul books on many dutch internet sites, but the only problem is, the books are in dutch, and I can't read or translate it into english. Does anyone else on this board think that it would be great if someone translated the books into english, as I have heard they are very popular in the nethelands, and so, can't other people get the chance to read them as well?
Luv Charlie

Re: Joop ter Heul

I think it would be a great idea for someone to translate the book. I'm reading Anne Frank's diary now as I have an essay to write about it and it would be great to read book's she read while hiding out in the attic. Do you think that's where she got her diary's name "Kitty" from?

Re: Re: Joop ter Heul

Yes, Kitty Franklin, the name of one of the characters in the book, is who Anne wrote to in her diary, maybe because of the similarities of their surnames! She also wrote to Pop, Pienne and some other characters in the book, but not Joop!
I just wish I could read some of Cissy van Marsvelzts books, especially Joop ter Heul and "A summer folly", but I doubt anyone would translate it, as it sounds like it is a typically dutch book!
If only we could find someone who can

Re: Re: Re: Joop ter Heul

Perhaps the best way is to ask the publishers if the books could be translated. I'm sure Anne franls diary ws a popular post- war book in Holland as well. But now it has been translated in hundreds of languages!

I thought no one has written here. The last time I wrote was in 2002, I think.
