A forum to discuss HaT products, ETS, uniformology, modeling, painting, and other essentials associated with HaT products.
I think it`s about time those Landwehr went from 8 to 10 , so done a reminder on Benno`s this evening, where else would Nappy fans in our hobby hang out on the net ? and has anyone promoted them on the German forums ? maybe any French one`s too ? are there people here sat on the fence ? and if so what is keeping you from making the purchase ? with a bit of team work we can get this one over the finish line and then start talking about what is next, lets hear from you.
Were almost ready for the big push the Factories are back from the Chinese New Year celebrations, Hans the Prussian Drummer boy Avatar on the left has just had his big drum back from the repairers and we have Alan Buckingham ready to lead the charge from stage 8 all the way to the finish line.
A very big thank you to everybody who has pledged to the Prussian Landwehr Crowdfunding so far, some people have pledged more than once get extra thank you's, the finish line is now in sight so we just need to keep going were so close.
and remember Every little helps
Hi Hat Twitter,
Can we have a Prussian Landwehr Week?
189 views to my original post, no one reply`s ( except Brian, twice ) not being a big nappy fan these day I am out of touch with where to spread the word, help appreciated. Although today I am painting Nappy French for the first time in maybe twenty years.
No, not apathetic. I have supported by comments, here, TMP and Benno's. I have pledged and paid hard currency. I have nagged H himself.
Now I limit myself to the occasional prod on other forums, and reserve my efforts to trying to convince H that the bonus figures should be really useful (like a general and an aide on horse or foot) rather than just more troopers.
the Prussians are really short of decent mounted commanders - the Italeri giants are, frankly, an embarrassment, and the W1815 set did not have any uniquely Prussian officers included in it, so we really could do with some new guys - pointing, reading maps, waving swords and just generaly being busy bodies. Mounted guys would work really well as they would complement the Strelets command set, who are all on foot of course.
just keep pushin' ...
What is a Prussian Landwehr week?
Hi
I am one of those people who are sitting on the fence. I can only speak for myself as to why I haven't joined the Landwehr crowd-funder yet.
If the Landwehr figures get made, I will buy them. However, if they don't get made, I won't be too upset. If they do get made, I believe that I can buy what I want at a much cheaper price than the crowd-funder. Therefore I need an incentive to pay extra for them.
For me, that incentive is the bonus figures. Show me a picture or a sketch or at least a description of what it/they are along with the issue basis (i.e.what quantity gets what bonus figure) and I will reconsider my position.
HaT has set the precedent that the crowd-funder will include bonus figure(s). I think that it is smarter for them to tell what they are rather than playing silly games about the "secret prize" at the "secret website". That may of worked when I was 10. It doesn't work now that I am 70. It just makes me angry.
Speaking of being angry, I have a comment for HaT-Twitter. Does HaT or Pacific Coast Company or whomever want me to buy their product? I am sitting here willing and able. So where is E27? Please spare me the B.S. about processing or preparing. You have been Processing/preparing for months. If you can't deliver product that you say you have, why should I believe that you will deliver in the future.
Pat Brennan
Apologies to Mr. Brennan. We will update the webpage as soon as there is progress for E27, the new items or the restocks.
Yes, us crowdfunding types may be paying too much. The bonus figures are just that, a bonus. I put hard currency down in advance because I want New Prussian landwehr. And I didn't think they would happen without my help.
If you don't want to get involved, I respect your decision
But the extra crowdfunding page is a treat for those of us who have paid. Whether that is right or wrong I cannot say, it to me it feels like H's way of involving those of us who have paid in the design process.
Those who choose not to get involved can enjoy their Christmas surprise when it comes. And maybe buy our spare bonus figures on eBay.
My logic works like this, if the crowdfunded sets are ultimately released for general sale, and are sold bu retailers at less than the price paid by crowdfunder`s, then that`s the end of crowdfunding , because no one wants to pay over the top. So to protect commercial integrity the retail price has to be the same or higher than that paid by the crowdfunders, the Crowdfunders because they paid up front get regular updates, and bonus figures, plus they get a say in what pose of bonus figure , and most important of all the set gets made and quickly relatively speaking. It boils down to a choice, like the 1/32 sets, make it happen or wonder what happened
Time will tell Pat, this is a new science after all, thanks for buying the Zulu`s , I am a firm believer in no such thing as bad publicity
Hi Pat,
I do think you are right about the Zulu's and Prussian Landwehr will have to go on general sale at some point, after all Hat will need to make a profit to keep making new sets, however I do not think the price will be very different from the price now on the Crowdfunding, it would be unfair to people who have pledged money upfront and of course it's unlikely you will have Bonus figures.
I totally respect your decision to sit on the fence nobody is sure how this new project will turn out, it is interesting that you have decided to sign up for the unmarried Zulu’s, hedging your bets by buying some but not all you need seems to be a good middle ground if you are undecided with this crowdfunding project.
Hi Alan, Brian et al.
Congratulations. The HaT home page says that the Landwehr crowdfunding project is approved.
Pat Brennan
Delighted for all involved in the project and particularity for those who dug deep , give yourselves a pat on the back.
Hurrah! the Prussian are coming! the Prussian are coming!
Great news I hope the wait goes quickly.
