Re: Holidays, military history and inspiration....and the French Vendee Revolts

I am glad to hear someone else uses HAT 1805 infantry as the Bleus of 1793. I am awaiting Strelets' British Light Infantry in Egypt so I can mix some Tarleton helmets in with the bicornes.
For cavalry, I use Napoleonic French dragoons.
Through trades and outright gifts from gamers who have "graduated" to lead, I have amassed a shockingly large amount of excess plastic, mostly Napoleonic of which a good chunk is the old ESCI stuff. Thus I have a surplus of RHA in Tarleton helmets and Old Guard grenadiers with long-tailed coats. A simple head swap yields quite authentic-looking Republican French infantry in Tarletons.
The first batch I did were in white coats, intending them to be placed in line between two columns of blue coats in l'ordre mixte. However, I'm contemplating changing their coats to white to fit in with the Italian campaigns of 1799 that I'm more actively gaming at the present.
