I'm sure that the more knowledgable people will correct me I'm wrong but this set is a god-send for the 1812 men.
Although the Bardin reforms were on their way in many battalions still had men in items of uniform which were pre-Bardin. I'm not talking about whole uniforms but the odd shako or coat etc. (Not the Tarleton style hemet)
So it would look good to slip some of the older bits into the newer set and make the troops look more worn and campaign battered.
