I use ''through the Mud & the Blood" by the TooFatLardies, for my skirmishes, 1:1 scale. They are great. Also, they have a system for the Great War in the M. East, where players become divisional/brigade commanders, manoeuver elements are battalions that break into companies.
Both have card driven mechanisms.
