I remember as a kid I had a comic book where some hussars on foot put their powderbag in the barrel of a gun to blow it up.
I wonder if that technique was historically correct and if there were other uses of the powderbags, like throwing them on a defended wall or throwing them in a square.
I also wonder how effective these powderbags where in use against line infantry. I don't think you could compare it with a current date grenade, but it probably could do some damage.
