I think if you are only going to do one set of a given subject - and I think it would be unreasonable to expect more at this stage of the game - one is better off producing a set of regulation figures. If these sell well and the demand is there, perhaps an action set or a set of troops in trousers might come down the pike later. In the meantime, at this scale a "conversion" isn't too difficult. What I did with my ESCI and Italieri guys was just lay an extra layer or two of paint at certain strategic points to hide the crease where the gaiters end and at the foot to give the appearance of trousers. Passes the "3-foot" test.
