Re: How old where you when you bought your first set of soldiers?
I was 4 Years old it was 1976 and I saw plastic miniatures by my cousin and cried so long that my smiling Dad convinced my mom that one or two sets could do no harm (she should have known better )
The two sets my mom bought me (I can´t remember if I really choose them or only grabbed two boxes ) where British WW1 Infantry and French Foreign Legion From Airfix (had anyone a set from another manufacturer first?? Would be a nice idea for another Thread )
I loved the Legionaires and fought with my great Blue Comrades versus those "Evil Greens". The Machinegun and Mortars from the Ol´Contemptibles and the Mounted Officers of the Legion where the first to get lost, but the wounded from both Sets lay in every Triage of every Game into the late 80´s.
Then nearly 20 years had to go by untill a Friend gave me 2008 the link to PSR and I decided to go back into the hobby again (frustration with Games Workshop - or better it´s players... ) and the first Sets I bought again to start with were French Foreign Legion and British WW1 Infantry (which will be used as Mexican Federales when the Ol´Contemptibles from HÄT are available).
