Giano-I am guessing that you are into small dioramas or at most skirmish wargaming. I am a wargamer. I am usually looking at large numbers of figures in similar poses because that is what (IMO) usually looks best for wargame units. Accumulating 10-20 boxes of the same set of infantry is not unusual. For cavalry figures in different positions are OK, but I want the horses all in the same gait, so sometimes I'll end up buying more cavalry boxes and sometimes less. Since I don't wargame with 100 gun batteries, buying more than 2-3 boxes of an artillery set is rare.
That said, when I was working on my ACW armies I used multiple manufacturers for my Confederates, not for differences in poses but instead to make them look less uniform.
