Jason Robards, who played Gen. Short in "Tora! Tora! Tora!" was a veteran of the attack on Pearl Harbor. In the scene where Gen. Short comes out of his HQ to see the Japanese planes hitting the base, he says the pyro and explosions were so realistic for a moment he flashed back. The look on his face wasn't acting.


The thing about "TTT" is they didn't have CGI back then, it was all actually done.
