There's not really a magic receipe, the longest it take, the more beautiful the figure is, but I agree with most here, Wash and drybrush will help you to highlight the finest details in the smallest amount of time.

For me painting figure is time consuming, but what a pleasure when it's finished, still wait from ETS to show my work so you will understand what I exactly mean.
