I'm currently painting up troops so I can refight Borodino in September. Thi smean I need to be abl eto paint very fast. This method works especially well with Russians:
Wash & scrub, stick to strips of wood, spray with plasticote black matt primer, paint the green bits, paint the metal bits paint the faces , paint the white bits, no need to paint hats, boots,gaiters, pouches (or staps on jaegers) - I wish I could show you some pictures as they look pretty good !
