By regulation 14,5 hands (=147,32 cm shoulder height) - really not small! But in the field, especially in Spain, remounts were very often purchased locally and availability was surely more important than regulation requirements. So I guess the real height of the horses was much smaller.

PS: The Teutonic Horse is either an enourmous beast (24 hands = 243,84 cm) or it is an other hand-measurement or simply a misprint (14 hands?).
