The uniform of the DMRs was dark blue in colour with black velvet cuffs, red braid and piping was added localy to the basic blue uniforms shipped in from England. The trousers had a red stripe running dowm each leg,a white helmet with spike was worn in the field.The standard issue weapon of the DMRs was theswinburn-henry carbine.
