I paint about a box of figures at a time. I paint in an order, tunic, trousers, hat and boots, base, weapon and then flesh followed by details. This means you can go quickly on the first items as the joins will be covered by the detail. I paint to an average standard with not a great deal of detail. I sometimes wish I had spent more time on the detail when I first started.
