That it was designed in the 1950s, like the old Airfix Infantry Combat Group, and it looks over simplistic and dated?
That it was sculpted at scale, like Strelets or the HaT Nubians and Sea Peoples, rather than pantographed down from an anatomically correct 9" figure?
That the tooling let down the sculpter's efforts, like HaT's WWI Canadians or the 25mm Velites included in HaT's Roman Artillery set?
That ill-fitting tooling causes excessive flash, as has happened with some of Orion's otherwise nicely sculpted sets?
That the figures are historically inaccurate, such as the Airfix WWI Americans, who never fought without helmets?
It seems unfair to me that picking on a 50-year-old set like the Airfix Paratroopers. There are a lot of sets that are a lot more recent and don't have the excuse that they were state-of-the-art at any point in time. I won't bother naming names but there are simply some figure brands I do not buy no matter how intriguing the subject might be.
