As has already been said, the film of "Last of the Mohicans", whilst it butchered the book, was still a great flick (Wes Studi, what a guy!) and stimulated loads of wargaming articles in the early 90s. I only have a few mags, but the spread on pp. 16-17 of WI 65 (Feb 1993), may be the one that you are thinking of?
Indeed, and I'm very happy to have watched it on cinema and not in the small screen - I'm talking about the old fashionned BIG screens, though I never miss it whenever I catch it again on tv.
About the mags, I really can;t remember.... I cannot check right now, cause they are in my mother's house, but I actually worry that I have lost these issues, or, that in fact I had borrowed back then (loosing 3 continuous issues is a bit weird). What I DO remember, is that they had a plan for a campaign game around the fort, and that the author had gone in to the pain of actually drawing plans of the surrounding area, in a 3D format, before the computer era. Quite creative of him.
