A town called Bury, part of Greater Manchester. It is the HQ of the Lancashire Fusiliers, and Gallipoli Day is observed every year, in addition to Remembrance Day. There's a new museum and garden of remembrance.

The plume is called a 'hackle'.

It's often forgotten that there was a large French force at Gallipoli. There is much uncertainty about French losses; at least 5,000 were killed, and some argue that the figure could be three times that.
