Re: ww1 cavalry clashes

During the battle of Moreuil Wood in March of 1918, the Canadian Corps' Cavalry Brigade were credited with help stopping the German advance in Operation Michael. Lt Gordon Flowerdew of the Strathconas won a posthumous Victoria Cross leading a mounted cavalry charge against some German infantry.
