Almost Fat Free Scones

Almost Fat Free Oat Scones




preheat oven to 350


(blend oatmeal in blender until it makes a fine flour)


Mix together and set aside:


1 cup oat flour (312 calories)


1/2 cup whole wheat flour ( 180 cal.)


1/4 tsp. salt


12 packs equal (equivalent to 1/4 cup sugar. Or, you can use 1/4 cup Splenda)


1 Tblsp. baking powder


Mix together:


1 egg (90 cal. 5.6 grams fat)


1 cup fat free yogurt (Mountain High 110 cal)


Add egg/yogurt mixture to dry ingredients and stir together just until moist.


Pour onto cookie sheet and bake 20 minutes at 350 degrees. Cool and cut into 8 wedges. Serve with 1 Tblsp. Brummel & Brown yogurt fruit spread. Enjoy!


90 Cal. per scone


140 cal per serving with Brummel & Brown spread.


For a a totally fat free scone, we should experiment with egg substitute and see what happens!
