I'm putting together a 1940's style Police Officers uniform and wonder if anyone has advice about footwear please? Would officers have worn boots similar to those issued to soldiers with toe and heel area of smooth leather for bulling or would there have been circumstances where officers (PC's and/or Sgts) may have worn shoes.
