I've been told that any pre reinforced Bobby helmet with red cotton stitching around the sweat band is an Asian repo helmet.
Is there anyone available to confirm or debunk this?
This is important to me as I have a few of these with legit plates on which reflect the appropriate era.

I have my original helmet from Hertfordshire Constabulary. Which was issued to me and which I wore on duty. It has red thick cotton stitching along the sweatband.

All I can say Geoff is whoever told you that does not have a clue about British helmets. The red cord (head band size adjuster) was used by many forces....especially Chrysty make helmets.
