I've recently acquired a Victorian Police truncheon, and am trying to find out some more information on it, but coming up with a blank. It's unusual as it's pretty small (20cms).
If at all possible can anyone have a look at it and tell me any further information, and also if there any dedicated Police memorabilia auctions/auctioneers in the UK?
I think you will find that the truncheon is not a police truncheon. But a “Fishing Priest” for dispatching fish after they have been caught. They dispatch the last rights.
Hence the “Coat of Arms” and the Constable Fisher inscription
