I am hoping that someone can help me. I will retire from the police at the end of October after 30 years service and would dearly to get hold of a picture/photocopy of the front cover of an old Police Review to prove to colleagues I was once "a cover girl".
In 1982 or 1983 (could possibly be 1984) I took part in a police charity rugby match boys v girls at Kingswood in Bristol. The girls objective was to score as many points as possible whilst the boys were out to get the girls as muddy as possible - in the end we both won!
At half time myself and a colleague, Judy, were photographed leaning on each other, tired and filthy. This photo appeared in the local press and then - and I really don't know how this happened- the photo appeared on the front cover of Police Review.
All I have is a copy of the original photo, not the magazine cover. Here's hoping.

Hi there, Yes, I fired an email off to them this afternoon. I'm hoping that one of these two strategies will pay off. My money is on this site. Real people tend to better at making things happen than companies, in my experience.

Thanks to Member"s suggestion of contacting the National Police Library I now have a scanned copy of January 1983's Police Review complete with my muddy, tired (but much younger and slimmer) cover girl appearance.
I also received an invite to go to the magazine editor.s office and see if I could find it in his office collection.
