Hi all
As a new collector of helmet plates, I have a couple of questions about them.
2 plates I bought of ebay have soldered on lugs, are these from repairs? Should the lugs be attached as per the more modern plates?
Are there fakes out there and what should I look at to identify them? Any assistance would be gratefully recieved.

No problem with soldered lugs. May be period repairs and does not detract from the value of the HP anyway. Fakery is (thankfully) not too bad in collecting police memorabilia but you need to watch the re-badged helmets on ebay.
