PARKS CONSTABULARY BADGE

I have a Green Enamel Senior Officers type cap badge with EiiR centre and the inscription PARKS CONSTABULARY. I have been told that this is a Royal Parks Constabulary badge, but I have a similar badge that is inscribed Royal Parks Constabulary, so I am Confused. I have also been told that this badge was used by the Liverpool Parks Police, but I have a Liverpool badge which is an oval wreath with a Liver Bird centre and is inscribed PARKS CONSTABLE. Can any one help with the identification of this Green Badge Please. I also have the same badge in the 'Other Ranks' style, ie a green circle not a star.

Re: PARKS CONSTABULARY BADGE

It is generally thought that the "star" badge to which you refer was used by the London Borough of Southwark Parks Constabulary.

The other "green ringed" badge you refer to was used by the Wirral (Merseyside) Parks Police. However, it should read "Parks Police" as opposed to "Parks Constabulary"

Both forces have long since been disbanded.

The Liverpool badge that you refer to is a helmet plate used by the Liverpool Parks Police. the cap badge is smaller and has on it the full force title.

Dave Wilkinson.
