Sorry I'm just now learning the passing of Robert. I was in supply division and worked with him. I always looked up to him and he was well respected.

One story I'll share with you. I, among others, had my seabag stored in an unauthorized place. Robert told us all to stow our belongings in proper places and threatened to throw mis-stored items "over the side" if we didn't. I did not take him seriously, but when I was ready to be discharged, I looked for my sea bag to pack my belongings - nowhere to be found. I asked Robert - he said he threw it "over the side" like he promised. There was not a thing I could do. So, I had to put out money for a new sea bag. I've told that story several times, mainly in respect for a man of his word.

He will be missed.
