Is the Market Stabilizing in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach
The market is correcting itself in light of two major storms -- Hurricane Ivan in September 2004 and Katrina in August 2005... Before the storms, we were hopping... The market has slowed down... However, condos that are priced right and those that are marketed widely with a good agent, are SELLING. Don"t count on the prices getting much lower. There are some "deals" out there, mostly owners who bought several properties in the peak market and have to bail on some, but those are usually snatched up quickly...The price point has gotten to where people are ready to buy again. People haven't given up on coastal real estate, but they don't want to turn around in six months and find they have lost value. If you care to see Gulf Front Statistics for the month of July 2007 go to www.gulfshoresrealestate.blogspot.com and check out the numbers...It's not the heyday we had before, but this is an indication to me that things are stabilizing. |
