Cheers, Dlambia. It strikes me the Argentine side could win - with 20/20 hindsight - if their air force fuses its bombs properly and concentrates on the naval and supply ships. If all the bombs which scored direct hits had detonated, we would have been stranded ashore without rations or ammo. To paraphrase the Duke of Wellinton, it was "a damned close-run thing". That proviso aide, the Brits are bound to win. Even with due respect to Armand and his maytes, their infantry and Marines lacked the training and esprit de corps to beat us, bravely as many of them fought. |
