Root River
Surfed the Root River today!!! It finally worked...I used a ski rope to get out to the wave and was able to get a ride that lasted 60+ seconds but could have gone all day. The last couple of days the levels were high and kinda dangerous so I waited for it to drop off. It still was sketchy though...my ski rope handle got caught in my leash and I was held under for a sec as it was pulling on my leg...It broke free and I was separated from my board...I was lucky enough to find my board intact hooked onto a tree with the leash...I know what to do differently next time so it'll be a bit safer...It was a fun little thigh high wave and it goes more often than you'd think...Neverending wave...so fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Right on Rusty, only have seen one other person do that and it was Fred on Christmas eve a few years ago, he did end up cracking one fin on his fish but it was way cool to see. Great Job Rusty just be careful

Yea Rusty, that freaking rad! I was just looking at a surfer mag with Jon Rose surfin rivers in England. What is up all you lake surfers? Its been too long. Just out here in the June gloom of Cali. Excited to come out to Wisco, on July 11-Aug 11. Hopefully they'll be some freak summer swell, or at least some good fishin'! Anyway, hope all of you are good, and sorry it took me so **** long to check in. Gotta go get salted, peace. |

Note to Fred.I checked my calendar from last year.Pretty interesting.... July 14th,2007.Got the word from Doc Beaton,Epic clean Grand Haven.He said they had 8 ft. faces and clean conditions. July19th and 20th.A nice N that lit up Racine July28th,a weak N that worked from Racine South.2ft. fun ones and warm water.. July5,6,7and 8.A bunch of swell starting with a SSE and bending around.I think that was the week that Burton got in 6 days in a row. I was hoping that one of the days in your month was that day we went to IN and surfed by Mateys but that was all the way in September. We'll get in.... |
