So Seth, I've been thinking about this for days now, and I just want to say Thank You. I actually feel a tiny bit bad for this, but after talking with you, you made me feel much better about the situation. What i did was wrong. I knew it was from the moment i began paddling. Here we are, sitting and waiting for a nice wave to come, and sure enough, something worthy of a paddle arrives. You were sitting in the perfect spot. The curl was just rolling right to yah....but did i mention how nice the wave was......sitting inside of you...watching this gem break on the sandbar.... I was barely able to control myself.... I started to paddle... By this time, you were just getting ready to pop up, and I knew it was wrong, I so knew it was wrong....I think for a moment i thought to myself, man I wish that was Max, for then i wouldn't care, but I saw it was you....and because i do hold respect for you, I didn't want to snake you. Then my thought process blanked out. I was like a chicken with its head chopped off....I gave a couple good strokes, and actually tried to beat yah to the pop up....Its funny, at this point, I wasn't thinking about how i was snaking you, all i had on my mind was quick bottom turn, and glide. I even went wide on my turn, to cut you off....Man what a jerk, I know, I know.......all that for one wave.... but regardless, I was possessed.... I continued through with my actions....and was rewarded, a fun, nice, little wave. Immediately upon getting back to the line up, I apologized to you. Your response just floored me...... "Seth, man I am so sorry for snaking you, I couldn't help it" "Ahhhh that's alright, did you get a nice ride" ... I thought about the ride i just took..........how nice the wave looked, how nice the shoulder set up.....how much fun the glide was.... " Yes, Seth, It was a blast" I responded..... You gave me a smirk, I smiled back, and here i am today, not only thinking about how nice a ride it was, but how big a jerk i behaved like, all that in the name of a wave! The thing that stands out most was your response~ well did you get a nice ride.... How divine man, you truely are a cool cat, and I just want to say Thank you. It will not go forgotten. How imperturbable you are.... thank you, that was a marvelous response on your behalf, it almost makes me want to snake you again, but twice wouldn't be nice. |

Ah another great Asswater moment. I wish the pile of concrete on the inside would have apologized to me for bumping into me numerous times during that session. Also for the moonlight session the night before as well. It's funny I started the morning by puking and end my day with by saturating myself in Asswater. Fun day, nice touch Scott. |

Scott, I appreciate the nice note. When I reflect on my own motivations, I try to realign them with the thought that in general, in life "it's not about me." It's just easier to practice that around friends and generous people. Besides, surfing's about having a good time. You get ***** over a snake, you're gonna have a bad time. |

finally the big man replies. Your thoughts on life, are right on brother. Im not so scary now, am I ? hahahhahah Well it's another day, and we will have to see what Neptune's plans for the day are? Possibly our paths may cross, and I have a scary handshake for yah. It is always nice to sit in the water with others that our out for the same reason. Not everyone surfs for the same reasons, and it is always a plus to be with others that are on the same page. May your day be a good one! |
