Oppose the planned demolition of Zion Chapel
"Developer", Kim Walker, has submitted a planning application to demolish the Zion Chapel in High Street Newbridge (near the Memo, opposite St Paul's Church) to build a 4-storey block of flats with associated parking. Copies of the plans can be viewed at the Memo. There's also a petition you can sign to oppose the application and a model letter that you can send to the Planning Committee. The plans are for the Chapel to be demolished and a 4 storey block of flats to be constructed. The flats would cover every inch of the Chapel's land and would be considerably larger than the existing structure. The existing building could be easily converted into attractive living accommodation but the 'developer' is motivated by pure greed. |

it;s nice to see someone is taking an interest in the area. my self and neighbours are pulling our hair out trying to sort out the three storey build opposite the old job centre. there are also three storey flats being built on the old job centre site, and a poibility of a build of some sort near the allotments (although we are not sure of this at present) we feel let down by planning and local councillors. no one seems to care!!! what do you think of forming some sort of group to fight these horrible new builds. we feel has if newbridge is being raped.
