Message:   I am trying to track down the provenance for a CSA Napolean 12 lb. smooth bore bronze cannon located in Walnut Grove, MO. It was manufactured by the Augusta (GA) Foundry in 1863 (unknown month). Serial Number is #47. It also has "GWR" imprinted on the muzzle, standing for George Washington Rains who supervised the Foundry. I am trying to find who the cannon was originally issued to and subsequent history and how it ended up in Walnut Grove. If you, or any of your readers, can provide myself with any information you might have to offer, I would be greatly appreciated.

Respectfully,
