The last name was "Prouty"
Inf--2,3,4,8,13 and 17th.
Cav--1st
Art--1st Heavy Artillery.
Had 4 family memebers in the 8th Vermont, they fought at Port Hudson.
Henry H. Prouty finished the war with the 2nd Vermont as Captain of company "C,B and H".
