Message:   I’m a Civil War author working on a book which features John Lonergan of Burlington. Born in Ireland, Lonergan was serving as a captain in Company A, 13th Vermont Infantry. At Gettysburg, on July 2nd 1863, he won the Medal of Honor for "Gallantry in the recapture of 4 guns and the capture of 2 additional guns from the enemy; also the capture of a number of prisoners."

Any information on Mr. Lonergan, military or civilian, would be greatly appreciated. Perhaps you could direct me to another organization that might be helpful.
