Lost an ancestor in the battle of Port Hudson. He was killed on June 3rd 1863. Cannot find any record of his outfit being there. 8th regiment Vermont Vols company D. I am pretty sure they must have been assigned to another corps, but do not know how to find it...(new to this) also have his brother and my fathers grandfather were in the conflict one from NJ and one from Mass. |
