I am interested in hearing from anyone who has any connection, or knowledge relating to Luther C. Kelsey, and Thomas Marnock, who were both from Derby, Vermont. They enlisted at the same time, were in the 11th Regiment, Company F, captured at Weldon Station, and taken to Andersonville. Kelsey died there, and Marnock later escaped after the transfer to Florence. Upon his return, Marnock later married Kelsey's sister, and told her he saw Kelsey at Andersonville. My mother, who is 89 years old, remembers Marnock well, some of his pet sayings, etc. She has a photograph of him and his wife, Betsy (Kelsey). |
