It would be a good idea to confirm the identity of the Pathe Baby projectors. One of the leading camera price guides has a long-standing error showing a photo of the Pathe Baby over a description of the 1912 Pathe KoK projector. It's possible that the dates are closer and the name wrong, though I think the sheer volume makes that unlikely. The Baby is relatively common, while the alternatives are too rare to exist in such large numbers in a single collection. They do have value, but the problem that arises is with the numbers. There are versions of the Baby, some with electric motors, some without. But there are not as many variants as you have projectors, so anyone buying the lot would be buying a lot of duplicates. Serious collectors will have one or more of the projectors already, so would be required to buy and ship duplicate items to get one or a couple of desired ones. It just doesn't usually pay to do that. There are things in your list that will appeal to some collectors, others with appeal to others, but finding one buyer who will want everything is probably going to be difficult.
The problem with many of the Baby projectors is that the metal used in casting was a "wonder metal" of the 20's that turned out to be unstable over time. It tends to crystalize and expand, so many Baby shutters are jammed into the housing and no longer rotate. Some eventually disintegrate. I have a box full of Baby parts from jammed units. That's why it will be important to note at least whether the crank (or shutter) turns or not.
If you can send me a photo or two I can at least confirm the identities. I'll keep an ear open and let you know if I run into any possible buyers. |
